Venue Hire Information

The ACO has a number of facilities for hire, with discounted rates for Not for Profit organisations and members (free of charge during office hours, labour costs only after hours).

Venue Hire Terms and Conditions (or Hiring Policy)

  • All activities need to be optometry or health care related.
  • The intent of this policy is for casual bookings only.
  • The College reserves the right to refuse applications based on their assessment of the request and their ability to deliver the service.
  • At least one person from the organisation hiring the venue should meet with the ACO Building Services Manager and IT Consultant to familiarise themselves with the layout of the building, emergency exits, and the IT equipment in the Amies Theatre.
  • Hirers may not generate income, through sponsorship or other means, when using ACO facilities. Any sponsorship agreements must be negotiated between the sponsor and the ACO, not the hirer.
  • Preset settings on audio/video equipment in the theatre cannot be changed without the express consent of the IT Consultant.  If these settings are changed by the hirer, the cost ACO incurs to re-set the settings will be reimbursed by the hirer.
  • All after-hours meetings will require at least one ACO staff member to be present for security reasons (labour costs will be incurred).
  • The hirer is responsible for stacking used dishes in the dishwasher and leaving the kitchen in a clean condition, if kitchen facilities are utilised.
  • All charges will be paid upfront prior to the date of the event.
