Contact Lens Services

Contact lenses can be worn as an alternative to glasses, whether you are short-sighted, long-sighted or have astigmatism. If you are over a certain age andContact_Lens need bifocals or just reading glasses, you may also be fitted with contact lenses.

The Contact Lens Clinic will only fit you with contact lenses if they are a suitable correction option. Information and advice on the use and types of contact lenses will be provided as part of the initial assessment.

 

The Contact Lens Clinic in Carlton has access to a wide range of contact lenses:

  • Rigid contact lenses
  • Astigmatic contact lenses
  • Bifocal contact lenses
  • Disposable contact lenses
  • Cosmetic contact lenses
  • Extended wear contact lenses
     
 
 
 
Staff are also experienced in the fitting of patients with keratoconus or post corneal surgery.  The most appropriate contact lens type will be discussed by your optometrist.

Eligibility

 All patients are eligible to attend the Clinic and can be fitted with contact lenses if they are an appropriate form of  correction.  All patients must have a general eye examination at which time your suitability for  contact  lenses will be evaluated.  In addition, patients may be referred in for specialist contact lens services by private optometrists.  Please refer to our eligibility criteria.  

 

No referral is required unless under the care of another eye care practitioner.
