Ocular Disease Services

The ACO Clinic provides specialist ocular disease care.  The Ocular Disease Clinics provide specific testing relevant to the eye condition being investigated. These clinics are staffed by optometrists with many years ofYoung_Woman_with_Elderly_Womanexperience and who have expertise and interest in the area of ocular disease.

Five clinics operate with staff specialising in the following areas:
  • Retina
  • Diabetes
  • Glaucoma
  • Anterior Eye
  • Cataract

 

Location

Specific disease clinics operate at Carlton (retina, diabetes, glaucoma, anterior eye and cataract)

 

Patients with ocular diseases can be appropriately managed at other metropolitan clinics (Braybrook, Broadmeadows, Doveton-Hallam, East Preston and Frankston)

Eligibility

All patients eligible to attend the ACO can be referred to Ocular Diseases Services.  You may be referred to Ocular Disease Service following a consultation at an ACO Clinic.  In addition, patients can be referred by private optometrists, ophthalmologists or medical practitioners.
