ACO Continuing Professional Development – Audio CPD Subscription (up to 24 CPD points per year)

The Audio CPD Subscription is offered to optometrists to provide CPD that will assist with identifying clinical problems in their practice settings, provide information to help solve those problems and increase their application of knowledge to practice. This service is a convenient method of obtaining continuing professional development by remote access.

The Audio CPD Subscription service entitle subscribers to receive, on loan, up to 2 audio items per month, consisting of CDs from the American Audio-Digest Foundation Ophthalmology. The CDs are designed to provide the subscribers with current information on diagnosis and management in areas of practice, including, but not limited to:

  • Allergy, Cataract surgery and intraocular lenses

  • Corneal and external disease

  • Extraocular-muscle dysfunction

  • Glaucoma

  • Neuro-ophthalmology

  •  Orbital disease

  • Ocular oncology

  • Pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus

  • Refractive surgery

  • Retinal and macular disease

  • Systemic and autoimmune disorders

How Does the Audio CPD Subscription Work?

  • Subscribers, pay one flat fee for the year of $65 (ACO member rate) or $365 (non member rate).

  • 2 CDs are mailed to subscribers, with printed support material, approximately every month. Once returned by mail, a further 2 items are forwarded (up to 24 items per year).

  • Self-record 1 CPD point per CD under the activity type ‘Independent Learning (clinical)’ supported by ACO CPD Statement.
