LOGMAR CHARTS
LogMAR distance acuity charts - $121.00Based on the original 6 metre distance acuity chart designed by Ian Bailey and Jan Lovie-Kitchin.
Bailey, IL and JE Lovie. "The design and use of a new near-vision chart". Am J Opt Physiol Optics(1980)57:378-387
The charts measure 1020 x 760 mm and feature 14 rows of LogMAR letters ranging from 6/60 (1.0 LogMAR) to 6/3 (-0.3 LogMAR).
The charts are available printed on stiff white board for external illumination.

This chart is designed for use at a distance of three metres.
It consists of LogMAR letters (14 rows) printed on 510 x 510 mm stiff white board and comes framed in frosted aluminium. It is available with visual acuity specified using a 3 metre test distance (3/30-3/1.5) and with the conventional Snellen fraction notations (6/60-6/3).

This is a chart for use at 3 metres and features LogMAR letters in low contrast (10%). The charts are printed on 510 x 510 mm stiff white board and come framed.
Paediatric chart $121.00This 6-metre chart (510 x 510 mm) uses symmetrical LogMAR letters (3/30 to 3/1.5) and comes with a laminated key card which is used by the subject to make a non-verbal response. This chart is framed in frosted aluminium.

An ideal briefcase-sized chart which has been developed for use on domestic visits.
It measures 400x200mm and comes with a pointer card measuring 170x170mm and is constructed using a durable plastic.
The Illiterate or Tumbling E chart, measuring 630 x 275 mm, is available printed on stiff white board, unframed.

This chart presents a side by side view of 2 LogMAR letter series (3/19 - 3/3.8). One is of normal contrast and the other of 10% contrast. It can be used reliably in low vision testing by reducing the test distance. The chart comes mounted in a frame for extra durability.

KITS
Rapid vision testing kit - $121.00This economical kit is ideal for the General Practitioner. It can be used in the consulting room or in various external situations to provide a rapid assessment of visual performance. It consists of:
- LogMAR Distance chart, 6/48 to 6/3 letters
- LogMAR word reading card
- Amsler chart
- Guidelines for the use of the charts
TESTS
Melbourne Edge Test - $135.00 printed on photo paperThe Melbourne Edge Test (MET) was originally designed by Jos Verbaken to permit fast and reliable assessment of the peak of the Contrast Sensitivity Function. The chart consists of a single luminance profile in four different orientations: horizontal, vertical, 45° left, and 45° right.
The MET is a non-grating contrast sensitivity chart. This test measures the contrast threshold for a single luminance profile edge, which is an aperiodic stimulus. There is psychophysical evidence that the edge contrast threshold is determined by the most sensitive spatial frequency channel, the higher threshold for a single edge with respect to the better performance for optimum spatial frequency gratings being due to probability summation. Forced choice methods of threshold determination have been shown to provide a more reliable measurement than the method of adjustment and other methods in which the patient's response criterion is not controlled. In this test the edge is presented at four different, randomly sequenced orientations. As orientation selectivity is a post-retinal function, orientation losses are diagnostic for optic nerve and visual cortex dysfunction. If an orientation defect is suspected it can easily be confirmed by presenting the chart in both normal horizontal format and by rotation in a vertical format.
Johnston LogMAR visual acuity calculator - $15.00This ingenious sliding card is used for calculating acuity when using LogMAR charts at any distance. It comes with instructions.
Magnification chart - $55.00
This comprises a set of 8 newspaper style text passages of different font sizes, ranging from 5 to 96 points. It is particularly useful for rapid assessment of the magnification needs of the low vision patient.
The chart is an A3 card laminated in a matte finish, folded in the middle. Fully opened, the chart measures 420 x 297 mm.

The reading cards are for use at a distance of 250 mm. They were designed by Ian Bailey and Jan Lovie at the NVRI and are based on the same principle as the distance charts. They contain 17 rows, each with up to six unconnected words of 4, 7 and 10 letters.
Bailey, IL and JE Lovie. "The design and use of a new near-vision chart". Am J Opt Physiol Optics(1980)57:378-387
Four different word sets, printed on white card (205 x 260 mm), are supplied.
The cards came laminated.

This simple, robust and economical chart, printed on plastifoam board is ideal for monitoring macular performance in the consulting room or at home.
