COVID-19 information

COVID (2)

Please read the information outlined below before you attend for your eye test at the ACO.

Information updated 29 April 2022

Face masks

The wearing of face masks remains required in all healthcare services and this include the ACO.  Masks are required to be worn by all people who attend our clinics to ensure our staff and patients remain safe during this challenging time.

Patients are required to wear a surgical face mask rather than a cloth mask and this will be supplied to you when you arrive.

Patients unable to wear masks for medical reasons should contact the clinic prior to their appointment to discuss how we provide care at this time .

Please call the clinic to discuss your eye care needs

Before your appointment

Before your appointment please read on to ensure you are familiar with the COVID-19 safety measures we currently have in place.

When you arrive at one of our clinics, please note that you are required to:

  • sanitise your hands
  • wear a face mask

If you are not willing to answer the questions or have your temperature checked, we will not conduct your eye test and you will be required to leave the building straight away.

On proceeding to reception, you will notice that a perspex barrier screen is in place at the desk, protecting both you and our receptionists.  Please do not try to talk around the screen – just stand in front of it and our staff will be able to hear you.

Our waiting rooms have been rearranged to ensure social distancing is maintained.  The waiting room is also being cleaned regularly throughout the day.

Choosing your new glasses

As always our dispensing team are available to talk about lens options and help you to choose your frame. These staff will also be wearing a face mask and eye protection when they are assisting you.

We are practicing social distancing in our frame rooms, with a maximum number of people allowed at any one time. Our dispensing team are limiting any direct touching of patients and if glasses need to be adjusted, they will do so with minimal contact.

All frames that are tried on by patients are disinfected before being put back on display. We are disinfecting the hard surfaces in the dispensing area between patients.
