Comprehensive eye exams

At the ACO, we focus on more than just your vision. Catering for patients of all ages and needs, our highly skilled optometrists will thoroughly examine your eyes and provide you with the best advice regarding your visual needs and the health of your eyes.

You will have access to an extensive range of state-of-the art equipment. Based on your needs OCT, wide field retinal photography and anterior eye imaging may be performed to ensure you receive the best care and guidance.

Eye care for children

Eye disorders are among the most common long-term health problems experienced by children. Good vision is important for a child’s physical and social development, and their ability to learn effectively.

We offer primary care services for all children. Our optometrists are experienced in diagnosing and treating children of all ages and they will provide comprehensive testing including assessment and advice on:

  • Vision and need for glasses or contact lenses
  • Eye movements and function
  • Ocular health

We have an extensive range of affordable frames and lenses to suit children of all ages

Contact lenses

Contact lenses can be worn as an alternative to glasses, whether you are short-sighted, long-sighted or have astigmatism. At Elizabeth Eye Care, we prescribe a wide range of soft silicone-hydrogel lenses, and we also fit custom Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses.

Diagnostic imaging

We use the most advanced diagnostic instruments to examine your eyes, and provide the highest quality care and advice. Our highly-trained optometrists will deliver a comprehensive assessment, evaluation and diagnosis of your vision and eye health.

To help us provide the best possible care, our team at Elizabeth Eye Care have a wide range of diagnostic equipment, including:

  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
  • Retinal photography
  • Visual field testing
  • Ultrasound biometry – pachymetry
  • Fundus autofluorescence (FAF)

Ocular disease prevention and management

Did you know that approximately 90% of vision impairment in Australia is preventable or treatable? At Elizabeth Eye Care, we are committed to ensuring that ocular disease is diagnosed as early as possible to prevent avoidable vision loss.

Where a referral to an ophthalmologist (eye specialist) is required, we will discuss with you the most suitable option, both within the public health system and private specialists. We will also keep your GP informed of any changes to your vision.

Low vision

At Elizabeth Eye Care, our aim is to help our vision impaired patients make the best use of their remaining vision.

Our low vision services include:

  • Magnifiers and reading aids
  • Distance and television magnification
  • Ocular healthcare and/or advice on eye conditions
  • Advice regarding lighting and improving contrast
  • Referrals for orientation and mobility training, Occupation therapy, and adaptive technology.
