The ACO has been a world leader in the provision of low vision care for over 40 years.
Our aim is to help our vision impaired patients to make the best use of their remaining vision. Our comprehensive low vision service is offered through our centrally located Carlton clinic, with introductory services offered throughout our other services.
Magnifiers are available at subsidised rates for patients with Health Care or Pensioner Concession cards. We carry a comprehensive range of devices, from low cost to high end; catering to any budget. Patients are able to try new technology, with a range of electronic vision enhancement systems (both desktop and portable) available for demonstration.
Referrals are welcome from all healthcare professionals and family or friends. Many of our patients are co-managed with other healthcare professionals; with ACO’s low vision clinic providing rehabilitative care, and another optometrist or ophthalmologist managing ocular healthcare.
